You're standing somewhere history happened. Baileys Harbor's sidewalks are home to 20 outdoor displays and over 115 historic photos, each one placed at the actual location where the history unfolded. Discover the stories of the ordinary people who built this Door County community over the last century, through local historians, family collections, and shared memories. Free to explore, any time of day, May through October. No tickets, no lines, no drawer to dig through. Founded in 2015 and fully funded by community members Kristen Peil and Caleb Whitney, History Along The Way continues to grow with new displays added each year. Just scroll down, find the map, and start walking where the story actually took place.
